Softball Falls in Final SSC Road Series

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Barry softball fell in a Sunshine State Conference series against Palm Beach Atlantic for their final road trip of the season.

SUMMARY (GAME ONE):

  • T1 – The Buccaneers would strike first once again with a two-run opening frame. Mya Tucker and Serah Shafer continued to be a strong 1-2 punch both singling to reach. Chandler Barry drew a two-out walk to load the bases. Vivian Billiard had the big hit to take advantage and bring home Tucker and Shafer. | Barry 2, PBA 0
  • B1 – Palm Beach Atlantic picked up the lead with a three-run shot. The had a sacrifice fly later in the inning for an insurance run. | PBA 4, Barry 2
  • B2 – Small ball and bac k to back base hits helped the Sailfish tack on three more in the next inning. | PBA 7, Barry 2
  • B4 – After stranding the Bucs with the bases loaded in the top half, PBA came in and continued to extend their lead with two more runs, taking advantage of a Barry error. | PBA 9, Barry 2
  • B6 – The game ended an inning early in rune rule fashion. | PBA 10, Barry 2

NOTEWORTHY (GAME ONE):

  • Shafer now how 23 multi-hit games this season.
  • Sadie Haefeli had a 2-for-3 day at the plate from the eight spot.
  • The Bucs stranded 10 on the base path.

SUMMARY (GAME TWO):

  • B2 – PBA scored first, for the first time this series. | PBA 1, Barry 0
  • B3 – A two-out double added to the Sailfish lead. | PBA 3, Barry 0
  • B4 – The Sailfish had a breakout inning taking advantage of two Buc errors to score four off three hits. | PBA 7, Barry 0
  • B6 – The game ended early once again as the Sailfish reached the eight run threshold. The Bucs were one out away from the seventh. | PBA 8, Barry 0

NOTEWORTHY (GAME TWO):

  • Alexis Martin had her third multi-hit game this season going 2-for-3.
  • This is the first time since 2018 PBA sweeps the series over Barry.
  • Tucker's triple extends her reached base streak to 18.
  • Sarah Langlie and Tucker are on a six-game hit streak, each.
  • Six different Bucs collected the seven hits.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Buccaneers will head home and finish the season with an six-game home stint, starting by welcoming Florida Tech to Buccaneer Field.
