ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – In an off week from conference action, the Barry softball team took a trip up to Flagler Field to take on the Saints in a midweek double-header. The Bucs picked up two wins on Tuesday evening and move back to .500 for the year.

SUMMARY (GAME ONE):
- T1 – Barry scored first as Serah Shafer had a one-out double to get the first hit of the game. A deep single to center from Sarah Langlie brought in Shafer for the first run. | Barry 1, Flagler 0
- T2 – The Bucs packed on to their lead with a four-run second, scoring all runs with two outs. Chandler Barry and Kiera Strub both had singles to reach. Sadie Haefeli and Mya Tucker had back-to-back RBI-singles. A throwing error scored Tucker. | Barry 5, Flagler 0
- B2 – Flager scored their first run with a two-out single. | Barry 5, Flagler 1
- B4 – A bases loaded two-out single scored their second run. | Barry 5, Flagler 2
NOTEWORTHY (GAME ONE):
- Samantha Rosenberger (3-6) picked up her second win in her last three starts.
- The junior threw four innings, punched out two, walked one, and gave up six hits for two runs.
- Isabel Vera came into relief and shut down the Saints for three innings picking up her first save of the season.
- Tucker was accounted for in three of the five runs tonight with two RBI and a run scored.
- All runs in the game on both sides were scored with two-outs.
SUMMARY (GAME TWO):
- T1 – The Buccaneer offense got going early again in game two. Tucker was hit by a pitch and Shafer drew a walk to reach. Harper Bunn blasted her second career home run to put up three in the first. | Barry 3, Flagler 0
- B2 – Flager took their first lead of the day with a four-run second. Five singles and a walk contributed to their lead. | Flagler 4, Barry 3
- T3 – Barry was able to scratch back for the run as Langlie had a solo shot. | Barry 4, Flagler 4
- T5 – The Bucs regained the lead in the fifth with a bases loaded hit by pitch to Alexis Martin that brough in Tucker. This would end up being the game-winning run. | Barry 5, Flagler 4
- T6 – Two more runs crossed the plate for the Buccaneers who extended their lead.
NOTEWORTHY (GAME TWO):
- Shafer picked up her 22nd multi-hit game of the season, the most since 2008 (Cristina DeTagle, 26). It is the second most in a single season in program history.
- Tucker also had a multi-hit game; she is second on the team with 20.
- Five different Bucs recorded a hit in the game.
- Alexis Martin (11-9) leads the team in wins; she came in and threw a two-hitter over 4.1 innings pitch. She did not allow a single run to score.
- It is the first doubleheader sweep of Flagler since 2015.
ON THE HORIZON:
The Buccaneers will take the weekend off and return to play next weekend, April 24-25 against Palm Beach Atlantic for their final road series of the year.
