Softball Drops SSC Series to Rollins

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Barry concluded the Sunshine State Conference softball series against Rollins falling in a double header on Saturday afternoon.

SUMMARY (GAME ONE):

  • B2 – Rollins was able to strike first for the second straight game. Back-to-back doubles led the first run. A two-out single then brought in the next run. | Rollins 3, Barry 0
  • B3 – The Tars added four more runs to their lead off four hits in the third. | Rollins 6, Barry 0
  • T4 – Barry finally cracked the scoreboard as a pair of errors helped them extend the inning. The first three batters reached to load the bases. Then Maffie Boyd brought in a run, off a sac fly to center. An error by the center fielder scored two after a walk loaded them up again. Harper Bunn continues to draw walks and this time it earned her an RBI as the Bucs cut the deficit to two. | Rollins 6, Barry 4
  • B4 – Rollins eared back three of the runs off three hits and an error. | Rollins 9, Barry 4
  • B5 – For the second straight day, Rollins ended the game early due to run rule.  It was a two-run home run that ended the game. | Rollins 13, Barry 4

 NOTEWORTHY (GAME TWO):

  • The Bucs have lost seven straight to the Tars and get swept for the third time this year in SSC play.
  • Vivian Billiard got the start and three four innings with four strikeouts and one earned run.

The Bucs will remain on the road with a midweek double header against Flagler on Tuesday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m.
