Baseball Drops Opener To #21 Rollins

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers lost 7-5 to the #21 Rollins Tars in the opener of their Sunshine State Conference baseball series at Feinbloom Field on Friday night.

Luca Mendez walked and Lee-Anthony Santiago beat out a infield single to load the bases.   • T5 - The Tars took the lead in the fifth. After loading the bases with two outs, Collin Hughes tripled down the right field line to tie the game and then scored on an error by Joseph. | Rollins 4, Barry 3
  • T8 - Rollins extended the lead in the eighth. They loaded the bases with two outs and Joey Rubin beat out an infield hit for one runs and Hughes was hit by reliever Pavlos Piperakis to score the other. | Rollins 6, Barry 3

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Tyler Toro (2-1) got the win in relef of starter Greenseid. He entered with a 4-3 lead in the fifth and worked three innings, holding Barry to one run on one hit.
  • AJ Seymour earned his fourth save with two innings of work. He allowed a run on two hits and struck out two.
  • Tyler Venegas (4-1) pitched six innings for the Bucs, allowing four runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks to take the loss.

The Bucs and Tars continue the series with a single game on Saturday, starting at 1:30 pm.
