Baseball Loses To Lions

ST. LEO, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers lost 5-4 to the Saint Leo Lions on Friday night at Southard Stadium in the opening game of their Sunshine State Conference baseball series.

  • T9 - Barry tied the game in the ninth. Josh Hungler walked and was replaced by pinch runner Ben Rhode. After Rhode stole second, Joseph tripled to right center to knot the game. | Barry 4, SLU 4

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Parker Hohnstock (3-1) got the win, despite blowing the save in the ninth. He struck out four in 1.2 innings of relief.
  • Perozzi allowed all three batters faced to reach in taking the loss.
  • Smith led the Bucs at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI.
  • DeBro had three hits for the Lions.
