ORLANDO, Fla. – Barry University women's track and field captured its first Sunshine State Conference weekly honor of the 2026 season, as freshman
Esther Oleus was named the conference's weekly award recipient, presented by Pollo Campero, for the week of February 23–March 1. Oleus earned the weekly award after her standout performance at the NSU Invite on Friday, February 27.
At the NSU Invite, Oleus put together an impressive showing on the track. She raced to a first-place finish in the women's 100 meters, crossing the line in 12.19 seconds. That time, not only won her the event but also moved the freshman into the No. 1 spot in the school record book for the 100 meters. The freshman wasn't done there; she then came back to compete in the women's 200 meters, where she placed second with a time of 25.15 seconds. That mark once again earned her the top spot in the school record book, capping off a strong and exciting day for the Miami native.
