MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The 23
rd-ranked Barry Softball team ended the weekend with another split, getting a run-rule victory over Bentley for the second time this weekend and then falling to fifth-ranked Saginaw Valley State to close out the weekend. The Bucs went 4-2 over the three-day span.

HOW IT HAPPENED (BENTLEY):
- B1 | Harper Bunn doubled to left center to get the offense going out the gate. Mya Tucker then had the one out double to straight away center to bring in Bunn. Chandler Barry had the sacrifice fly that brought home Tucker for two runs in the first. | Barry 2, Bentley 0
- T2 | The Falcons scratched for a run in the top of the second as a lead off single came around to score on a sacrifice fly. | Barry 2, Bentley 1
- B2 | The breakaway inning came in the bottom of the second as the Bucs put up an eight-spot. Eight straight reached on six hits, a hit by pitch, and a walk. Martin who started the inning getting hit by a pitch drove in the 10th run on a sacrifice fly. The run rule was in effect for the Bucs early. | Barry 10, Bentley 1
NOTEWORTHY (BENTLEY):
- Barry had their seventh 10+ hit game as a team.
- It was the third run-rule victory of the season, second against Bentley.
- Mya Tucker extended her hit streak to nine and on-base streak to 10 straight, going 2-for-2, while driving in three.
- Martin had the complete game throwing a two-hitter giving up just one run while punching out four. She picks up her second win this year.
- Serah Shafer, Sarah Langlie, and Cameron Marchese added on the two-hit list.
HOW IT HAPPENED (SVSU):
- T1 | A two-out walk came around to score on a single to right center as the Cardinals put up the first run. | SVSU 1, Barry 0
- T4 | Another two-out timely hit drove in the second run for Saginaw Valley State. | SVSU 2, Barry 0
- T5 | The Cardinals put up a crooked number to add onto their lead. Three Cardinals quickly reached as a double scored the lead-off walk and then a single drove in the next run. Isabel Vera came in and got two quick outs, but another two-out hit drove in the third run of the inning. | SVSU 5, Barry 0
- B7 | Marchese drew a walk and scored on a Shafer base hit thru the left side.
NOTEWORTHY (SVSU):
- Harper Bunn, Vivian Billard, Cameron Marchese, and Serah Shafer each tallied a base hit.
- Langlie ended a 12 inning scoreless streak over the Cardinals with her first long ball of the season.
- Shafer has reached successfully in all 12 games, using her final at bat to extend the streak.
- Vera's relief performance allowed just two hits and kept the Cardinals scoreless over three innings of work.
ON THE HORIZON
Barry will hit the road for their first trip of the season heading to Georgia to take on Northwood and North Georgia on February 14-15.
