MIAMI, Fla. -- The Barry University women's tennis team has faced their first loss of the season after seven straight wins, dropping the ball to NCAA DI Florida Gulf Coast University. This is also the Bucs first loss since the 2025 season, where they ended on a 23-match win streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Eagles took the doubles lead as Brun and Nikolova lost in the bottom flight on court three.
- Crespo and Lutringer evened the doubles points after winning their match on court one, making the final doubles match decide who gets the point.
- Anger and Heiman clinched the doubles point for Barry in the middle flight, giving Barry the doubles point.
- Barry starts singles up 1-0 on the Eagles.
- The Eagles even the score 1-1 after Nikolova falls to her opponent.
- Crespo is also defeated on court two, giving the Eagles their second point of the match.
- Brun loses her match against Berezak to put the Eagles up 3-0.
- After two sets, Heimen is defeated on court one, which allows the Eagles to clinch the Match.
- With the match clinched, the final two matches on courts three and four are left unfinished.
NOTEWORTHY:
- Crespo and Lutringer are now 6-1 as a duo this season and are on a two-match win streak.
- Anger and Heimen moved to 2-1 together and are on a two-match win streak as well.
- Anger won her first set in singles and was on to a tiebreaker before the match was set to be unfinished.
- Lutringer also won her first set in singles 6-3 and was in a third-set tiebreaker before the match was clinched by the Eagles.
