ORLANDO, Fla. --  The third ranked Barry University women's tennis team took on the no.35 ranked Davenport University this Wednesday, March 3rd and won in a clean sweep 5-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • The Bucs took the doubles point after a sweep in the first flight and only letting up five points total in the bottom two flights.
  • Barry starts singles up 1-0 over Davenport.
  • Brun defeats Federski in two straight sets making the score 2-0 Barry.
  • Heimen defeats her opponent on court one to put the Bucs one point away from clinching.
  • Sperb clinches the match for the Bucs defeating Lind 6-4, 6-1
  • Michalitsch gets the final point for Barry after defeating Bloch, making the final score 5-0 Barry.
  • Both Nikolova and Lutringer's matches are left unfinished. 

NOTEWORTHY:

  • This is the first time the Bucs have faced off against Davenport.
  • Lutringer and Michalitsch are both on a five match win streak.
  • Heimen is now 4-2 for the season.
  • As a duo Lutringer and Crespo are 7-1 and currently on a three match win streak.
  • Heimen and Dana are also on a doubles win streak of three matches,
