MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers clawed their way to a 13-12 win over the Wingate Bulldogs on Saturday night at Feinbloom Field.

• T1 - Sean Sullivan blasted a two-run homer to open the scoring in the top of the first, while Max Reaume and Neil Griffin each had RBI singles. | Wingate 4, Barry 0
• B1 - The Bucs loaded the bases on a walk to Zavier Hatfield and a pair of hit batters. They scored two runs on ground outs. | Wingate 4, Barry 2
• T2 - The Bulldogs scored three runs in the second. Gavin Groppuso walked, stole second and scored on a single by Bowen Powell. Powell scored on a double by Tanner McCammon, who capped the scoring by coming home on a sacrifice fly. | Wingate 7, Barry 2
• B2 - The Bucs pulled to within one with four runs in their half of the inning. Dyson Joseph beat out an infield single and Hatfield was hit by Bulldog starter JD Little. Brady Blanks delivered an RBI single and Jalen Smith Smith followed with an RBI double to deep center. NOTEWORTHY:

• The teams combined to use 12 pitchers in the game and the last ones for both teams figured in the decision.
• John Perozzi (1-0) got the win for the Bucs after getting the last four outs.
•  Charlie Carpenter (0-1) took the loss for the Bulldogs, giving up four runs, including Smith's homer, in three innings. He allowed six hits and three walks.
• Smith and Blanks each had three hits for the Bucs. 
• Opie led the team with five RBI on the day.
• Hatfield tied the school record with four walks on the day. The feat has been accomplish 18 other times including by Braden Forchic and Savi Delgado in 2024. Hatfield was also hit by pitch once and homered, scoring four times.
• The five homers ties for fourth-most in a game for the Buccaneers.
• The game was delayed from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm by rain in the area.
