CORINTH, Texas -- The Barry Buccaneers women's golf team finished their first tournament of the year at the DBU Classic, finishing fifth among 15 teams. The Bucs were plus-eight and shot for a 584 total (296-288). The tournament was shortened a round due to weather.
Barry was only shy one stroke of finishing in third place. Leonie Sinnhuber led the way for the Bucs, finishing tied for third place.
BUCCANEER HIGHLIGHTS:
Leonie Sinnhuber (-3) (72-69--135) T-3rd Place
- Top 3 in par 4 scoring at -1
- Ranked fourth in par 5 scoring at -4
- Totaled 20 pars and 10 birdies
- Finished -2 on the front nine and -1 on the back nine in the second round.
- Shot a career low as a Buccaneer, with her first under-par finish.
Tereza Zavrelova (-2) (72-70--142) T-5th Place
- One of two Bucs to finish under par.
- Finished -2 on the front nine and -2 on the back nine in the second round.
- Ranked first on par 3 strokes with -3
- Totaled 26 pars and 6 birdies

- Totaled 19 pars and 6 birdies

- Finished fifth beating a number of ranked opponents including no.12 St. Mary, no. 16 UNG, no. 18 Saint Leo, no. 19 Missouri-St.Louis, and no. 20 Henderson State
- The team ranked third in birdies totaling 28
- As a team finished ninth in par 4 strokes, eighth in par 4 strokes, and third in par five strokes
- Finished with 106 pars over the two rounds.
UP NEXT
Bucs will travel to Doral, Fla. to compete in the Pat Bradley Invitational, starting on Sept. 29th.
