DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Barry Volleyball returned to the Sunshine State and went up to Daytona Beach to compete in the Embry-Riddle Invitational this weekend. The tournament started with the Buccaneers sweeping Seton Hill from the ICI Center Friday afternoon to remain undefeated on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - Veronika Eremeeva earned the first kill of the game and gave Barry the first point. The Bucs gain space early with three big blocks to help the scoring. The lead held through the set and Barry took a 1-0 match lead with a block from Frankie Good and Sonya Sinkova to close out the first set. Barry earned 22 of the 25 points in the set with 14 kills, two service aces, and six blocks. | Barry 25, SHU 17
- Set Two - The block party continued in the second set with Eremeeva and Ester Pushkarov teaming up for the first point. After a 3-3 tie, three Buccaneers went on a 5-0 run to start gaining separation. Varvara Osychenko picked up two kills through the process. Barry cruised to a second set win and make it a 2-0 match lead. The Bucs hd 12 kills and swung .370 with two service aces and three blocks. | Barry 25, SHU 14
- Set Three - Barry had to battle it out in the last set as the Griffins scored the first point fo their first lead of the match. After an 8-8 stalemate, the defense locked in and record four straight blocks to deny SHU at the net, regain the lead and hold it all the way through. Pushkarov had the exclamation point kill that forced a timeout. From there on out it was all Barry who closed out the match in three sets. NOTEWORTHY:
- Veronika Eremeeva led with 13 kills, she has recorded double-digits and led the team in every match this season thus far.
- Eremeeva also had four service aces, three blocks, and five digs.
- Sofya Sinkova hit a new career-high in kills with nine. She added three digs and three blocks on the night as well.
- The block party was led by Ester Pushkarov with seven and Ivana Žujovic with five.
- Valeriya Kozloova also had five blocks and added three service aces and six kills.
- Gaia Riedmüller and Varvara Osychenko held the back line with seven digs each.
- Thalia Iglesias led the setters with 19 assists.
- The defense forced the second lowest opponent hit-percentage of the season at .085 and had the most blocks of the season.
- Statistically, the Bucs led in all categories, kills (41-29), digs (39-36), service aces (7-1), and blocks (15-1).
- It is the fourth 40-kill performance by the team this season and fifth sweep.
