MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers lost 11-8 and 7-3 to the top-ranked Tampa Spartans in a Sunshine State Conference baseball doubleheader at Feinbloom Field on Saturday night.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Skylar Gonzalez (8-1) picked up the win in the first game. He allowed two runs on four hits and two walks in six innings. 
  • Jacob Fletcher came in to get the final out and pick up his fifth save.
  • Mason Blocker (6-4) took the loss for the Bucs. He allowed eight runs (four earned) in five innings.
  • In the nightcap, Jake Stipp improved to 9-0, holding the Bucs to a run on six hits in six innings.
  • Sean Driscoll (2-3) allowed five runs on six hits in 3.1 innings.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs play their last regular season games next weekend as they visit the Nova Southeastern Sharks.
