MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers placed two on the Women's Tennis Academic All-District teams this season. Angela Leweurs and Maria Tatarnikova were both recognized for their outstanding work in the classroom.
Leweurs*, a senior from St. Denis, France, has a 3.503 GPA with as a dual major in psychology and photography. She is 15-1 in singles and ranked #31 by the ITA.
Tatarnikova, a senior transfer from Tomsk, Russia, carries a 4.0 GPA as a graduate student pursuing her MBA, after finishing her undergraduate degree with a 3.88 GPA at Drake.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-District® teams require players to maintain at least a 3.5 GPA as both a undergraduate and graduate student, as well as must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's days of competition.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists, denoted with an asterisk*, advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 4, 2025.
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
