MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Barry Buccaneers held a double header for softball at Buccaneer Field and dropped two close games to Sunshine State Conference opponent, Rollins. This ultimately led to Rollins taking the series over Barry.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE):
- T1 | Rollins used a three-run blast to left field to score the first runs of the game and take an early 3-0 lead. | Rollins 3, Barry 0
- B1 | Sarah Langlie got the offense started how she does best with a stand up double to right center. Caroline Figueroa then had the infield single and Sofia Chamorro drew a walk to load them up. Paige White drew a five pitch walk to bring in the first run. | Rollins 3, Barry 1
- T3 | A sacrifice fly after back to back singles brought in their fourth run for some insurance. | Rollins 4, Barry 1
- B3 | Once again the Bucs bounced back after the Tars put up runs in the top half. Becka Mellor had a two-out single to bring in Figueroa. Brooklyn Rushton then doubled to left center and brought home Chamorro to make it a one run game. | Rollins 4, Barry 3
- T5 | The Tars secured the final run to secure the win taking advantage with the speed on the bases to steal a base and score on a ground out. | Rollins 5, Barry 3
NOTEWORTHY (GAME ONE):
- Barry stranded 10 base runners to Rollins five.
- Langlie and Figueroa recorded multi-hit games with two a piece.
- It is Langlie's team leading 17th this season, and Figueroa's 11th.
- Seven of the nine starters recorded a hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO):
- B4 | Barry got on the board first with some crafty base running as Mac Stone-Folmar dropped a bunt single and created chaos that brought home Becky Mellor. | Barry 1, Rollins 0
- T5 | The lead did not last long as Rollins scored one in the top of the next fifth. A bases loaded single brought in the tying run. | Barry 1, Rollins 1
- T9 | After a three inning dead lock, Rollins broke it up with a walk that came around to score on a triple to dead center. | Rollins 2, Barry 1
NOTEWORTHY (GAME TWO):
- Alexis Martin held it down for 41 innings of work striking out four and allowing just one earned run on three hits.
- Samantha Rosenberger came into relief and threw 4.2 innings with a punch out and just one earned run and four hits.
- Mya Tucker had the lone multi-hit game, her 10th of the season.
- Barry is 4-2 in extra inning games.
