Men’s Tennis Falls To Keiser In Regular Season Finale

The Bucs celebrate Senior Day for some of their athletes

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. --  The second-ranked Barry Buccaneers bring the regular season to a final with their final matchup against NAIA's #10-ranked Keiser Seahawks at home. The Bucs would not end the regular season on a high note, as they fell in a close 4-3 match after losing all of Doubles matches.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Keiser swept all three doubles courts to take the early 1-0 lead. Despite a strong push from Barry's Court #3 team, the Seahawks edged out a 7-6(10) win in a high-pressure tiebreaker.
  • Barry answered in singles with a fast start on Court #4, where Ariel Meshulam defeated Gilad Tamar 6-3, 6-3 to even the score.
  • Keiser regained the lead on Court #2 as #52 Yassir Kilani took down #30 Yan Kodjoed in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4.
  • The Seahawks extended their lead to 3-1 with a solid win from Mathieu Strauss over Thomas Machado, 6-3, 6-3 on Court #5.
  • Barry stayed alive with a comeback performance from Tim Riedel on Court #3. After dropping the first set in a tiebreak, Riedel stormed back to win 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-1.
  • In the featured matchup on Court #1, #3 Shaheed Alam sealed the win for Keiser, edging out #31 Riccardo Trione 6-2, 7-6(3).
  • Barry picked up a final point on Court #6 where Elie Azoulay outlasted Herber Santos in a three-set battle, 6-1, 4-6, 7-5.
