WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers lost the opener of their Sunshine State Conference baseball series to the Palm beach Atlantic Sailfish 6-5 on Thursday night at Jake Rubin Park.

- T2 - Barry jumped out to the early lead in the second inning. Felix Diaz doubled to open the frame and Murchael Turner was hit by PBA starter Dane Hall. One out later, Brady King walked to load the bases. Diaz scored on a sacrifice fly by Matthew Menendez and Joe Wike drove in two runs with a single through the left side. - B2 - Finley Holmes and Kody Kelly scored on a triple by Jake McNamara to cut the lead in half. | Barry 4, PBA 2

- B9 - Neither team could scratch the scoreboard until the bottom of the ninth. Patrick Rakes, who had reached on an error, scored the winning run when McNamara delivered a two-out single off reliever King (1-2). | PBA 6, Barry 5
NOTEWORTHY:
- Neither starter figured in the decision. Steven Trone (1-1) got the win for the 'Fish. He tossed 3.2 scoreless innings, holding the Bucs to five hits and strikint out five.
- King, who came in to get out of a two on, two out jam in the eighth, walked the lead off batter in the ninth, allowed Rakes to reach on his own error and then gave up the game-winner to McNamara.
- Bruno Diaz and King all had two hits for the Bucs, while McNamara went 4-for-5 to lead the Sailfish.
