Baseball Drops Mid-Week Game To Sharks

DAVIE, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers fell 7-3 to the Nova Southeastern Sharks in baseball action from the NSU Baseball Complex on Tuesday night in non-conference action.

  • B2 - The Sharks added four more in the second. Gabriel Ezquivel brought in two runs with a single. Another run scored on an error and Esquivel later scored on a wild pitch. | NSU 7, Barry 0
  • T5 - Barry finally got on the board in the fifth when Harry Vargas Seguera drew a bases-loaded walk. | NSU 7, Barry 1
  • T9 - Vargas Seguera drove in another run with a single and Kendry Noriega added an RBI single of his own. | NSU 7, Barry 3

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Christopher Perez (2-1) worked six innings, allowing one run on four hits and two walks and struck out four to get the win for the Sharks.
  • Dylan Peck (2-3) took the loss for Barry, allowing seven runs on five hits, a walk and two hit batters.
  • The Bucs' bullpen combined to hold the Sharks scoreless over the last 7.2 innings, allowing just two hits and three walks, while sriking out eight.
  • Jimmy Bruno and Matthew Menendez each had two hits to lead Barry at the plate.

ON THE HORIZON:

Barry get back into Sunshine State Conference play this weekend, visiting the Eckerd Tritons at the Turley Athletic Complex.
