Softball Sweeps Eagles in Dominant Fashion

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. The offense exploded for 19 runs in a double header clean sweep to take the series over Embry-Riddle. This give Barry Softball their second Sunshine State Conference series win of the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE):
  • T1 | A throwing error by the Eagles got Barry on the board in the top of the first. | Barry 1, ERAU 0
  • B2 | A first and third base running play tied things up at onne all. | Barry 1, ERAU 1
  • T3 | The game got blown open with a four run top of the third. A triple by Mac Stone-Folmar highlighted the inning scoring two runners. Sofia Chamorro came right behind and singled through the right side to extend the lead and bring Stone-Folmar home. | Barry 5, ERAU 1
  • B4 | A leadoff homer for the Eagles brought them back within three.|  Barry 5, ERAU 2
  • T5 | The game was put away in the fifth for Barry. The Bucs scored five runs off three hits, capitalizing off two Eagle errors. Mya Tucker had the big hit delivering a two-out, teo-run double to left field to put the game in run rule territory. | Barry 10, ERAU 2
NOTEWORTHY (GAME ONE):
  • Haelee Angelico picked up her first win of the year. She three four innings allowing four hits, one earned run and picked up a strikeout.
  • Barry had six two-out RBI. Overall the Bucs hit .304, hitting .444 with two outs.
  • Seven of he nine starters reached base safely.
  • Stone-Folmar picked up three RBI, with Tucker right behind with two.
  • Brooklyn Rushton and Stotne-Folmar both had multi-hit games.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO):
  • T1 | Mya Tucker started the game wih a leadoff infield single. Caroline Figueroa singled through the left side to bring home Tucker. Stone-Folmar singled to ceenteeriflede and brought home two to take the early lead. | Barry 3, ERAU 0
  • B1 | ERAU took their first lead of the series with four runs off three hits taking advantage of two Buccaneeer errors. | Barry 3, ERAU 4
  • T2 | Paige White got the inning started with an infield single. Mya Tuckre then recorded her first career triple to bring her home. Harper Bunn followed with another infield single, this brought home Tucker. Sarah Lannglie and Figueroa then both singled to load the bases. Stone-Folmar walked in a run, then Chamorro drove one in with a single up the middle. | Barry 7, ERAU 4
  • T7 | Stone-Folmar triplede for the second time on the weekend to bring in a run. Chamorro laid down a squeeze bunt to then cap it at nine runs. | Barry 9, ERAU 4
NOTEWORTHY (GAME TWO):
  • After the crazy first, the pitching staff and defense sat down seven of the nin next batters to come up from the third to the fifth.
  • Isabel Vera picked up her third win of the year, throwing five innings, allowing three hits, no runs, and striking out four.
  • Seven of nine starters picked up a hit. Four had multi-hit games.
  • Tucker, Figueroa, Stone-Folmar, and Chamorro all had two-hit games.
  • Stone-Folmar brought in three, with Chamorro driving in two.
  • Chamorro rides a nine game hitting streak. Stone-Folmar is behind with six.
  • Bunn has reached base 10 straight games, Chamorro, Figueroa, and Langlie at nine.

ON THE HORIZON

Barry will come back home for a mid-week double-header against Edward Waters on February 26 starting at 4:00 p.m.
