MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers defeated arch-rivals Lynn in Sunshine State Conference women's basketball action on Cesar Odio Court on Wednesday.

- 1Q - Barry jumped out to an early lead. After an Audrey Jennings jumper at 6:06, the Bucs led 11-6. But the Knights used a 8-0 run over the next two minutes to take a 14-11 lead. The Knights led 20-18 with 1:43 left, but Barry scored the final six points on a triple by Jennings, a layup by Aijah Palmore and a free throw from Kayliah Morales. | Barry 24, Lynn 20
- 2Q - Barry did not trail the rest of the way, although the Knights made several runs. Kyrstin Greene hit a jumper with 3:36 left in the half to put Barry up by eight, their biggest margin of the half. | Barry 35, Lynn 30
- 3Q - Still up by five with 5:59 to play in the third, Barry scored nine straight, with five points from Jennings and a pair of free throws from Greene to cap the run, which produced the biggest lead for the Bucs of 14 points, 52-38. - 4Q - In the fourth quarter, the Bucs built another double figure lead when Jennings scored eight in a 10-3 run tah put Barry up 72-61 with 3:06 left. The Knights kept fighting, though, and went on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to five 72-67 when Jess Knight hit two free throws and Ella Fiore stole the ball and laid it in. But once again, the Bucs found the response. Morales got a jumper to roll in with 0:40 second left and Greene and Jennings went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the last 0:25 second to seal the win. | Barry 78, Lynn 70
NOTEWORTHY:
- Jennings had a career night for the Bucs. She scored a career-high 37 points to lead all scorers and hit a triple with 2:36 in the first quarter that was her 1,000th point as a Buccaneer.
- Jenning becomes just the second Buccaneer to hit for 1,000 points in just two seasons, doing it in just 52 games. (Altrice Thompkins - 54 games, 1989-91)
- Morales chipped in 13 points.
- Chappell led the Knights with 19 points, while Fiore had 16 and Knight added 14.
- Barry led the battle on the boards 33-29, though second-chance points were tied 6-6.
- Barry out-scored the Knights 22-8 at the line, as the Knights committed 20 fouls and had two players foul out.
- The win was the fourth straight for the Bucs, matching their longest of the season.
