MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry Softball splits the twin bill with 22-ranked Nova Southeastern on Saturday from Buccaneer Field. The Buccaneers win the series over the Sharks, marking their second ranked series victory of the year.
In between games, senior Mac Stone-Folmar was celebrated in a first of five senior day celebrations.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE):
- B3 | The bottom of the third was once again where the scoring started the Bucs in game two of this series. Rebecka Mellor got the party going with a solo shot to right center. It was Mellor's first of her career. | Barry 1, NSU 0
- T4 | Nova took their first lead of the weekend with a three run fourth. A walk and infield single got the first two batters on base. Then sacrifice bunt put them in scoring position for the next batter, Gianna Russo, who doubled to left center and brought them both home. - B4 | Barry quickly regained the lead with a three-run bottom half of their own. Sofia Chamorro and Paige White reached base via walk and single, respectively. Mellor delivered once again, this time with an RBI-single. Harper Bunn then poked one to left field for a two-run single. | Barry 4, NSU 3
- T6 | In the back and forth affair, NSU took the 5-4 lead in top of the sixth off three hits. | Barry 4, NSU 5
- B6 | Just like in the the bottom of the fourth, the Bucs scratched for a run to tie it all up. Mellor did all the heavy lifting in the game, tripling down the right field line to Bri Pellicone who pinch ran for Sofia Chamorro's single. | Barry 5, NSU 5

NOTEWORTHY (GAME ONE)
- Mellor recorded her first career triple and home run as a Buccaneer. It is only her second ever 3-for-3 game, both her only three hit games. Lucky number three continues, as it was her first three RBI game.
- Bunn went 2-for-2 with two runs batted in and a walk.
- Barry outhit NSU 10-9 in the game.
- Eight runners were left on for the Bucs compared to the Sharks seven.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO):
- T1 | The offense rolled over for the Sharks. They scored two to open the game up capitalizing off a Buccaneer error. | Barry 0, NSU 2
- B1 | Barry cut the deficit by one using a two-out rally. Sarah Langlie got it started with a single to left center. Her wheels moved her to third. Caroline Figueroa then brought her home with a single to left center. | Barry 1, NSU 2
- T2 | Another Bucs error allowed NSU to extend their lead and regain the two-run lead. | Barry 1, NSU 3
- T3 | For the fifth straight inning, going back to game one of the double header, NSU put a run on the board. This made it a three run game. | Barry 1, NSU 4
- B3 | Chamorro delivered a big single to right center that brought home a run and brought it back within two. | Barry 2, NSU 4
- B5 | The biggest inning delivered six runs off five hits and sealed the victory for the Buccaneers. Figueroa got the party started with a leadoff double. Rushton followed right behind with a double of her own. Stone-Folmar single through the right side and brought home one. Shelby Prevatte was hit by a punch that loaded the bases. Langlie drew the walked and forced a run in and gave Barry the lead. Figueroa cycled through and made her way back and doubled once again down the left field line, this time scoring two. | Barry 8, NSU 4
NOTEWORTHY (GAME TWO)
- Figueroa and Rushton both collected three hits.
- Rushton continues to lead the team in multi-hit games with six on the year. It is her 21st overall.
- It is the fifth double-digit hit game as a team for the Bucs this season (second most at 12).
- Bunn has reached based seven straight games. Chamorro, Figueroa and Langlie are all at six.
- Alexis Martin came in a threw four innings of relief, improving to 3-1 on the year. She gave up just three hits, non earned runs, and three free passes while striking out one.
- Barry wins their first series over the Sharks since 2017.
- It is their fifth win over a ranked opponent of the season.
ON THE HORIZON
The Bucs will continue SSC play with their first road game in 19 days, as they head up to Daytona Beach to take on the Eagles of Embry-Riddle. The three game series will take place February 21-22.
