MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The sixth-seeded Barry Buccaneers travel north to Melbourne, Fla., to face the third-seeded and 17th-ranked Florida Tech Panthers in the quarterfinals fo the Sunshine State Conference men's soccer tournament at Rick Stotler Field on Monday.

The Bucs earned 14 points in league play, going 4-4-2 to secure the sixth seed. The Panthers earned 18 points to tie with Rollins and earned the tie-breaker over the Tars based on goal differential.
The Bucs and Panthers closed the regular season with a 1-1 draw on Thursday. It's the second year in a row that the teams have played the final regular-season game and then opened the tournament against each other. This marks the fourth straight SSC postseason tournament in which Barry and Florida Tech have faced off, sixth overall. The Buccaneers have a 4-1-0 advantage, including the 2023 final and 2024 quarterfinals. FT's lone win against Barry came in the 2022 final. Overall in the series, Barry leads 24-19-6.
Florida Tech ranks fourth in the league in offense (1.813 | 29 goals in 16 games) and fourth in defense (1.06 | 17 goals allowed). Barry is fifth in offense (1.786 | 25 goals in 14 games) and ninth in defense (1.71 | 24 goals allowed).
The winner of the match will face off with the winner of the #2Lynn/#7 Saint Leo match in Thursday, Nov. 13 at the highest remaining seed.
