Women's Soccer Topples Knights 2-0

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry women's soccer toppled arch-rival Lynn 2-0 in Sunshine State Conference action Wednesday night at Buccaneer Field.

  • 23:00 - The Bucs broke the scoring ice in the 23rd minute. Lykke Johnsen-Mørken delivered a perfect cross from the left side to Dylan Barnes in the box and Barnes ripped a shot over the shoulder of Knights' keeper Emma Brunelli. | Barry 1, Lynn 0
  • 70:19 - The Bucs won a free kick near midfield and Melina Walle-Olsen delivered a service deep into the Lynn box.   • 87:57 - Lynn's Juliana Torres was sent off after a second yellow card for dissent in the 88th minute. 

NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Bucs doubled up the Knights on shots 18-9 and led 8-3 on goal. 
  • Marlen Hernandez stopped all three Knight shots on goal, including a brilliant stop on a rebound shot by Kiana Rhee-Osorio in the 57th minute.
  • For Hernandez, it was her fifth solo shutout and for the Bucs, their ninth in 12 games.
  • Brunelli had six saves for the Knights.
