Women's Soccer Picks Up Conference Point Against The Lions

Bucs play an NCAA-record sixth scoreless draw

ST. LEO, Fla. -- The Barry women's soccer team played their sixth scoreless draw of the season, setting the NCAA Division II record in the process against the Saint Leo Lions at University Field on Saturday night.

SUMMARY:

  • First Half -  Saint Leo had a slight edge in the possession in the first half, hold the ball 53 percent of the time, although nearly 60 percent of their possession came in the midfield. For the Bucs, 64 percent of their possession came in the Lions' half of the field.
  • Second Half - In the second half, the Bucs held a slight edge in possession, 51-49 percent, as they out-shot the Lions 4-3 in the half.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Saint Leo led 11-8 in shots and 4-2 in shots on goal. 
  • Barry led 5-2 on corners
  • Marlen Hernandez recorded her sixth solo shutout of the season, making four saves.
  • Emma Guidotti had two saves for the Lions.
  • The Bucs set the NCAA Division II record with their sixth scoreless draw of the season, beating the mark set by South Dakota State in 2003 and equaled by West Virginia Wesleyan in 2018.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Buccaneers host the Edward Waters Tigers on Wednesday night, Oct. 22 and will celebrate the 2025 senior class in a ceremony at halftime.
