Barry Swim Falls in the Regular Season finish to Keiser

There were many notable performances from the team’s best swimmers.

MIAMI, Fla. -- It is the beginning of the end for the regular season for the Barry Swimming Buccaneers faced off against the Keiser Seahawks in a dual meet at the Keiser Campus in West Palm Beach, FL. In the previous 2023-2024 season, Keiser was able to get the best of Barry and Ave Maria in their previous double dual meet, the Bucs look to change the outcome this year.

The Buccaneers suffered a loss in their final game of the regular season, with the men's score ending as 80.5-175.50 and women's final score being 100.50-154.50. Despite their loss both teams excelled, with numerous personal and season-best records achieved. The depth of Barry's roster was evident this season, as many swimmers across various style contributed to the team's overall success in the team's second season.

The women's team was led by Diana Suprun, Evelin Zbisko and Taryn Will, who dominated their respective events. Suprun delivered a stellar performance in the 200 breaststroke, claiming first place with a time of 2:24.85 and earning 606 points, the highest individual score of the meet for Barry. Zbisko exhibited incredible versatility, earning three first-place finishes, including a personal best in the 200 IM (2:09.32) and a strong showing in the 200 butterfly (2:14.08). Chloe Skelt added to the overall team success with her season-best victory in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.77), lastly Kate Rutledge and Taryn Will contributed valuable points in distance freestyle events with a impressive 5:44.50.

    • Taryn Will: 5:44.50 (2nd Place, 450 Points, Seasons best, with a fantastic improvement of six seconds from her previous record.)

    • Evelin Zbisko: 1:00.36 (1st Place, 549 Points, reach a new Personal Best with a half a second improvement.)
    • Taryn Will: 1:06.51 (5th Place, 410 Points)
    • Jenna Beck: 1:07.03 (7th Place, 401 Points)

    • Evelin Zbisko: 2:09.32 (1st Place, 627 Points, a new Personal Best was set with a one second improvement from her previous best.)
    • Diana Suprun: 2:17.97 (1st Place, 516 Points)
    • Kauri Parsons: 2:27.62 (7th Place, 421 Points)
  • 200 Freestyle Relay
    • Barry A: 1:45.65 (3rd Place, 529 Points)

The men's team delivered many standout performances today, with Balazs Ament and Roland Nagy leading the charge as they have this season. Ament captured three first-place finishes, including the 100 breaststroke (57.60), 200 breaststroke (2:07.61), and 200 IM (1:58.80), showcasing his dominance in individual medley and breaststroke events. Nagy was equally impressive, winning the 100 backstroke (52.29) and earning second place in the 200 backstroke (1:54.59), further solidifying his reputation as a backstroke specialist. Jacopo Lanzo earned a tie for first in the 100 freestyle (49.14) and contributed significant points in the 200 freestyle and relays. Matthew McLean demonstrated endurance with strong finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:49.89) and a season-best performance in the 100 freestyle (50.28). The men's relay teams added to the success, with Barry A winning the 400 medley relay (3:28.32), setting the tone for the meet.
