Women's Soccer Sweeps Series From Edward Waters

Alia Jaidi tallies brace in 2-1 win

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers completed a season sweep of Edward Waters on Monday at Glover Field and Stadium with a 2-1 win over the Tigers in women's soccer action.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Barry has now won three straight against the Tigers in the series, including two this year.
  • Jaidi, who led the team with four goals last year, already has three this year. She is the second player this season to score a brace in a game after Ashley Finn did it against the Tigers on opening day.
  • Conway leads the team with three assists.
  • Shots were even in the game 14-14, but Barry put nine on goal to just five for Edward Waters.
  • In the first half, Barry out-shot the Tigers 9-6, including 6-0 on goal.
  • Maya Caon picked up her first win of the season with four saves.
  • Olivia Galloway fell to 1-2-0, despite making seven saves.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs host the Eckerd Tritons on Saturday, Sept. 21 in the Sunshine State Conference opener for both teams, with kick off slated for 7:00 pm.
