HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Buccaneers took two doubles matches quickly, leaving the final match at 5-2.
- Barry's Alloiarvoa and Dema shutout the top pair from UNK, Becarra and Ranaivo, who had beaten the nations top duo from Azusa Pacific yesterday.
- Needing just three singles victories to complete the win, Barry won all six first sets.
- At No. 6 singles, #70 Versier steam-rolled Hatouka 6-2, 6-2.
- At the second flight, #20 Dema made it 3-0 with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Ranaivo.
- Leweurs clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Midzi at No. 5.
- The other three match all split sets, as the 'Lopers did not go down without a fight.
NOTEWORTHY:
- For Barry, it is their seventh time in a row to advance to the NCAA semifinals and the 16th time overall.
- Barry has won eight national championships, including the last six in a row, both figures the best in NCAA D-II history.
- The Bucs beat the Antelopes for the second time this season, both matches coming in the quarterfinals of tournaments. They won 5-1 in the quarters of the ITA Indoor Championship as well.
- All eight titles have come under head coach Avi Kigel in the last 13 years.
