Softball Overcomes Early Deficit In 2-1 Victory Over Florida Tech

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - After allowing a run in the opening inning of Friday evening's Sunshine State Conference contest against Florida Tech, the Barry University softball team responded with a two-run second to flip the one-run lead while holding the Panthers off the scoreboard for the rest of the game in a 2-1 triumph.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • T1| Leading off the contest with a base hit, McLaughlin rounded the bases off a Bucs' error to give FT an early 1-0 lead.
  • B2| Reaching base on a leadoff bunt, Mac Stone-Folmar capitalized on a Panther error to even the score before a Cassandra Lee base hit scored Brooklyn Rushton and made it 2-1.
NOTEWORTHY 
  • Harper Bunn went 2-for-3
  • Lee went 2-for-4 with one RBI
  • Stone-Folmar went 1-for-2 with one run scored.
  • Taylor Thompson drew three walks.
  • Maci Barnhart tossed a complete game with one unearned run allowed off two hits while striking six batters.
