Softball In Seventh Heaven After Doubleheader Sweep of West Florida

PENSACOLA, FLA. - Heading into the seventh inning in both games of Wednesday's doubleheader trailing host West Florida, the Barry University softball team orchestrated a pair of rallies to sweep the Argonauts 7-6, 6-5

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)
  • T1| Opening the day with a single, Brooklyn Rushton gave Barry an early 1-0 lead off a Cassandra Lee sacrifice fly.
  • B1| Keeping the stanza alive with a two-out walk, West Florida took a 2-1 lead off a two-run home run on the ensuing at bat.
  • T3| Rushton flipped the one-run lead via a two-run home run that scored her and Taylor Thompson.
  • B4| The host evened the score off a one-out single before a triple scored two more to create a 5-3 score.
  • T5| Barry took advantage of a West Florida error to score a run and make it 5-4.
  • T7| Getting the opening two batters on base, Bary tied the score off a Caroline Figueroa single before a Paige White sacrifice fly and Alexis Toledo single propelled the Bucs to a 7-5 advantage.
  • B7| West Florida made it a one-run game off a solo home run.
