Baseball Loses To Wildcats

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry lost 5-4 to the the Wilmington Wildcats at Feinbloom Field in non-conference baseball action Wednesday night.

SUMMARY:

  • B1 - Nck Toms singled to left center with one out and scored on a double by Evan Wickeri. | Barry 1, WU 0
  • T3 - The Wildcats scored four runs on just two hits, as Barry pitching hit four batters in the inning. With the bases loaded, Barry starter Chase Muir hit three straight batters to force in runs. Zach Walker chipped a single between the mound and second base to score another. | WU 4, Barry 1

  • T9 - Matt Warrington reached on a error by shortstop Jimmy Bruno and scored the winning run when Tyler Pirrung delivered a two-out single. | WU 5, Barry 4

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Garret Quinn (2-0), the ninth of 10 Wildcat pitchers, got the win after allowin one walk in the eighth inning.
  • Dom Grady walked the leadoff batter in the ninth, but stranded him to earn his third save.
  • Federico Zapata (1-1) gave up on unearned run on one hit in the ninth to take the loss.
  • Rodriguez, Forchic and Wickeri each had two hits for the Bucs, with Wickeri driving in two.
  • The Bucs set a school record by hitting six batters, breaking the record of four, which was tied in several games.
  • The loss was the first ever to Wildcats in seven games.

The Bucs host the Vulcans of Califonia-Pennsylvania on Friday at 1:00 pm.
