Eight Is Great; Softball Run-Rules Lynn For Eighth-Straight Win

MIAMI SHORES, FLA. - Behind 13 hits which tied a season-high and the most recorded by the Barry University softball team at Buccaneer Softball Field in 2024 on Sunday afternoon, the Buccaneers completed their first SSC series sweep at home this season and third overall in a 10-2 run-rule triumph over Lynn.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • T1| Leading off the contest with a single, Lynn scored the opening run off a two-out single.
  • B1| Barry capitalized on a Lynn error to even the score before an Alexis Toledo single scored Caroline Figueroa and made it 2-1.
  • B3| Reaching base on an error to start the frame, Harper Bunn rounded the bases off a Toledo single before base hits by Mac Stone-Folmar and Maggie Boyd scored Cassandra Lee and Figueroa to create a 6-1 score.
  • T5| A walk and back-to-back singles with one out scored a run for Lynn and made it 6-2.
  • B5| Getting a pair of runners on base via a leadoff double and walk, Taylor Thompson sent both Bucs home off a single to extend Barry's lead to 8-2.
  • B6| Pinch running for Lee and Figueroa who opened the stanza with back-to-back hits, Jaydn Rogers and Becka Mellor scored the final two runs off a Paige White groundout and Stone-Folmar single.
NOTEWORTHY 
  • Toledo went 3-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.
  • Lee went 2-2 with two runs scored and two walks.
  • Bunn went 2-4 with one run scored.
