Tri(ton) as they Might, Eckerd Can't Keep Up With Softball In Doubleheader Sweep

ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. - After recording her 100th career hit in the opening game of Saturday's Sunshine State Conference doubleheader at Eckerd, a 1-0 victory for the Barry University softball team, Mac Stone-Folmar led the Bucs in the second game behind a three-hit showing to complete the series sweep via a 6-3 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 1)
  • T6| A Brooklyn Rushton solo home run to start the inning got Barry on the scoreboard.
NOTEWORTHY (GAME 1)
  • Rushton went 1-3 with a home run.
  • Alexis Toledo went 1-2 with one RBI and one run scored.
  • Samantha Rosenberger tossed 4.1 scoreless frames with three hits allowed and three strikeouts.
  • For Eckerd, Johnson tossed 5.0 innings with one run allowed.
  • Barry recorded three hits versus four for Eckerd.
  • Eckerd committed one error.
  • Barry left five runners on base while Eckerd stranded five. 
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME 2)
  • T2| Barry capitalized on a Tritons' error to start the inning with a pair of runs off a double from Stone-Folmar and sacrifice fly from Maggie Boyd.
  • B3| Opening the frame with back-to-back hits, Eckerd used an RBI groundout and single to even the score.
  • T4| Leading off the frame with a single, Stone Folmar rounded the bases off a Rushton single with Boyd scoring on a Harper Bunn base hit before a Tritons' error allowed two more runs to score and create a 6-2 lead.
 NOTEWORTHY (GAME 2)
  • It is Barry's second SSC series sweep of the season, both occurring on the road.
  • Stone-Folmar went 3-4 at the plate with two runs scored and one RBI.
  • Bunn went 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored.
