OCALA, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers swimming team completed day four of five at the SSC Championships, racing in the Day 4 Preliminaries and Finals on Saturday at FAST.
The men are competing against five Top-25 nationally ranked teams, Tampa (3), Nova Southeastern (12), Florida Southern (15), Florida Tech (20) and Rollins (21).
The women are joined by stiff competition as well, they are joined by three nationally ranked teams, Nova Southeastern (3), Tampa (5) and Lynn (22).
The events raced on Day 2 were the 500 yard freestyle, 100 yard backs,100 yard breast, 200 yard fly and the 200 yard free.
HOW IT HAPPENED
MEN
Roland Nagy finished sixth in the 100 yard back with a time of 48.38, qualifying him for NCAA Nationals in the "B" standard.
Jacopo Lanzo finished 11th in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:34.14, qualifying him for NCAA Nationals in the "B" standard.
David Szlobodnyik finished fifth in the 200 yard fly with a time of 1:49.50, qualifying him in the "B" standard for NCAA Nationals.
Robin Tatar also swam in the 200 yard fly and finished with a time of 1:54.66.
The relay team of Szlobodnyik, Brooks Blackert, Paul Southern and Jerry Avila finished sixth in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:28.08.
The relay team of Diego Diaz, Alan Perri, Chris Paige and Collin Perri finished 15th with a time of 1:33.18.
WOMEN
Rozi Marta finished 16th in the "B" final of the 500 yard free with a time of 5:08.33.
Diana Suprun finished ninth in the 100 breast with a time of 1:04.04, qualifying her for NCAA Nationals for the "B" standard.
The 200 yard free relay team of Suprun, Marta, Taryn Will and Michelle Lue-Fatt finished sixth with a time of 1:47.44.
