MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — Senior Day 2024 was all that was anticipated with the Barry Volleyball team sweeping Rollins in straight sets. Prior to the match, the Bucs honored five seniors in Jade Galligo, Nadia Lewis, Fiona Baker, Jeyhlen Thomas, and Diana Akopova. The regular season ends with an 11-match win streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One -The momentum started out in favor of the Bucs, with a set changing kill coming from Veronika Eremeeva who broke the 10-10 stalemate. From there Barry went on a 7-0 run. The set ended on a 5-0, with Barry taking 15 of the last 17 points in the set. The scoring was highlighted by five service aces. The defense kept Rollins at bay hitting -.129 with just four kills in the set. | Barry 25, Rollins 12
- Set Two - The second set went much different as there was eight ties and three lead changes. Barry had as much as a five-point advantage in the set before the Tars worked their way back into the set. Barry scored six of the last seven points to close it out and take a set advantage into the third. | Barry 25, Rollins 22
- Set Three - Complete dominance ensued to start the third as Barry went on an early 6-0 run to make it 7-1. Rollins only strung together two runs of multiple points. Barry defense locked in for 5.5 bock in the set, forcing a -.167 hitting percentage for the Tars.| Barry 25, Rollins 12
NOTEWORTHY:
- This is the third time the Barry defense has forced a negative hit percentage for the opponents.
- Barry dominated all six statistical categories 49-27 in points, 33-23 in kills, 7-2 in service aces, 9-2 in blocks, 30-21 in assists, and 50-40 in digs.
- Veronika Eremeeva led the way with 11 kills on the evening, with four service aces, three blocks, and six digs.
- The seniors combined for 13 kills and 4.5 blocks. All five saw the court.
- Gaia Riedmüller led the match-high with 17-digs.
- The Bucs are 51-17 in set wins in SSC play this season.
- This is the eighth time in a single season that the Bucs have reached 20 overall sweeps and 10 SSC sweeps.
