MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — The Barry University women's volleyball team continues to roll with their 10th straight victory. This marks the longest win streak of the season, while also picking up their 19th sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - The set started off in a back and forth battle that neither team was able to gain separation from. Barry took a three-point lead that led to an Eagles timeout. The set ended on a big rally that was closed out with a Jeyhlen Thomas and Veronika Eremeeva block to set an early tone. - Set Two - Momentum carried through to the beginning of the second set as Barry started on a 5-0 run. The first eight of 10 points were in favor of the Buccaneers. Barry led by as much as nine points in the set giving themselves a big cushion. Akopova had five kills, with two service aces, and played a clean set hitting .500 with no errors. The Bucs had their most efficient attacking set with just two errors and hitting .440. | Barry 25, Embry-Riddle 19
- Set Three - In another competitive back and forth set, Barry's defense stepped it up a notch collect 4.5 blocks in the set. After trailing the set 2-0, the Bucs strung together five straight points with Varvara Osychenko and Nadia Lewis picking up key back-to-back blocks. ERAU worked their way back into the set tying it up 13 ties. Akopova closed out the set with the last two-points for Barry. | Barry 25, Embry-Riddle 23
NOTEWORTHY:
- The match was tied 25 ties with nine lead changes, all coming in the first and third set.
- Barry won five of the six statistical categories 55-45 in points, 42-35 in kills, 9-3 in blocks, 39-32 in assists, and 38-35 in digs.
- Akopova had a match-high 16-kills hitting .342, with six digs, and two service aces.
- Lewis and Osychenko led the team in blocks with five each.
- Gaia Riedmüller led the match-high with 13-digs.
- The Bucs are 48-17 in set wins in SSC play this season.
- The defense kept the Eagles offense at bay allowing just played in double-digiti kills with 11 and a .156 hitting clip.
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry will close out the regular season at home on Saturday afternoon hosting Rollins for Senior Day 2024. Match time is set for 4:00 p.m.
