MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — The Barry Buccaneers dominate the Florida Southern Mocs for their eight-straight victory on Saturday afternoon from the Health & Sports Center. This is the second time the Bucs have gone on an eight-match win streak this season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Set One - The first set was a breeze for the Bucs as they used a 7-0 run to take full control early after a 3-3 tie. Within the run, Diana Akopova picked up two overpass kills. In the set, Barry only allowed one run of three-points for the Mocs all set. The Bucs offense dominated the set kills 15-5 swinging .500 and forced FSC to go negative at -.048. | Barry 25, Florida Southern 13
- Set Two - The momentum carried over into set two starting with a service ace from Veronika Eremeeva to open things up. Diana Akopova kept it rolling in the set with five kills. FSC only scored back-to-back points once in the entire set. Barry was able to go deep into bench, with 12 players seeing he floor. | Barry 25, Florida Southern 11
- Set Three - The defense closed out the match in the third set with eight blocks. Ivana Žujovic shut it down with five blocks of her own. Zujovic added two kills in the set for 4.5 points. Jeyhlen Thomas had a big set with going a perfect 4-for-4 in attack attempts converting to kills. Thomas also had two blocks in the set. NOTEWORTHY:
- The 14.5 blocks are a season-high for the Bucs. It is the most in aa match since December 1, 2022.
- Barry dominated in every statistical category 58.5-27 in points, 40-20 in kills, 4-2 in service aces, 14-5 in blocks, 33-20 in assists, and 47-35 in digs.
- Akopova had a match-high 12-kills hitting .344, with seven digs, and four blocks.
- Zujovic had six blocks for the match-high.
- Riedmuller led the match-high with 16-digs.
- The Bucs are 42-17 in set wins in SSC play this season.
- The defense did not allow one Moc to be in double-digits in kills.
