MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry Men's Basketball battled a tough Fort Lauderdale team, handing them their first lost of the season while gaining their first win. The offense put together an 85-point performance, the most all season. It was also the best defensive game with eight-blocks, and 10-steals.

- 1H - Fort Lauderdale led early in the contest, until Ga'Khari Lacount hit a three-point basket to put Barry up for the first time. Freshmen, Reggie Reinhardt had a key block that led to a Jimel Lane lay-up from baseline to baseline, that erased a five-point deficit and tied it up at 24-all. Reinhardt followed the next bucket with a triple for the lead. - 2H - Akeem Crandon got the second half started with a block to keep momentum on the Barry side. The Eagles were kept at bay through the first five-minutes of the period. After that, they erased the eight-point halftime deficit and traded baskets with the Bucs. OT Delancy got the crowd on their feet and the forward drained a three from the top of the key to gain some space. The last tie came within the final four minutes, a Jimel Lane slam sealed the deal for Barry and put the game away for good. | Fort Lauderdale 83, Barry 85
NOTEWORTHY:
- Gabe Hernandez had a season-high 25-points, shooting 78% from the field, 92% from the line, and had five assists.
- OT Delancy had 15 of the 33 bench points, BU bench outscored the Eagles 33-20.
- Four different Bucs recorded double-digit points with Lacount and Lane joining Hernandez and Delancy.
- Crandon had three of the eight blocks, while leading the boards with seven rebounds.

Barry will open Sunshine State Conference play next Saturday in Daytona Beach against Embry-Riddle at 6:00 p.m. from the ICI Center.
