MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers drew 1-1 with the Tampa Spartans on Saturday night in Sunshine State Conference women's soccer action at Buccaneer Field.

Ella Wallfur Skiljic won a free kick about 40 yards out after being fouled by Tampa Nellie Bryneus. Grace Simon came over the take the kick and served a perfect ball inside the box, finding the head of Makenzie Shean who flicked the ball ahead. NOTEWORTHY:
- Maya Caon earned the draw for Barry with two saves in goal.
- Smith had four saves, including a pair of beauties in the upper 90 on shots by Shienne Gadson and Tessa Evans, for the Spartans.
- It was the second straight tie in the series, after the two teams also played a 1-1 tie at Pepin Field in 2022.
- The game was played in a light rain for much of the action.
ON THE HORIZON:
Barry host the Florida National Conquistadors on Monday, Oct. 2 in a makeup game from the Sept. 14 match that was canceled with the Bucs up 1-0 at the half.
