Baseball Takes Opener From Mocs

Reagan picks up ninth win, Zapata eighth save

LAKELAND, Fla. -- Barry knocked off the Florida Southern Moccasins 5-2 in the opening of their Sunshine State Conference baseball series at Henley Field on Friday night.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Mike Reagan (9-1) went a season-best 7.2 innings, striking out 11 to earn his ninth win. The senior gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk.
  • Federico Zapata worked the last 1.1 innings, hold the Mocs scoreless on a hit to earn his eighth save.
  • Wright (2-1) took the loss for FSC in his first start of the year. He gave up two runs on two hits and three walks in 3.2 innings.
  • The win was Reagan's 19th career victory, moving him into eighth place on the Bucs career chart.
  • Delgado had two hits and three RBI to lead the Bucs at the plate. 

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs and Mocs will conclude the series with a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 1:00 pm.
