Baseball Wins Two At NSU

Bucs take the series 2 game to 1

DAVIE, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers won two game at Nova Southeastern's baseball field on Saturday, taking game one 4-3 and the nightcap 6-2 in Sunshine State Conference action. Barry won the SSC series 2-1 and the season series 3-1.

  • T3: Barry tied the game on a solo homer from Savi Delgado. After Forchic walked, Stella game the Bucs the lead with a double to left, and later scored on a fly ball by Maceda. Sean Shelly smacked a two-run homer to cap the scoring. 

NOTEWORTHY:

  • Trevor Baker (1-3) worked four innings in relief, holding the Sharks to a run on three hits.
  • Ogden worked a perfect ninth for his third save of the year.
  • Cooper Omans (4-5) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks to take the loss.
  • Angel Cespedes (7-3) went six innings, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks. He struck out three.
  • Federico Zapata pitched the final three innings, scoreless, facing just one batter over the minimum, for his seventh save.
  • Frank Ellisalt (0-4) took the fall for the Sharks, giving up six runs on six hits and two walks in 2.2 innings.
  • Ogden, Stella, Shelly and Savi Delgado each had two hits in the twin bill for the Bucs.

ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs close the regular season on the road at Florida Southern on Friday and Saturday, May 12-13.
