TAMPA, Fla. -- The Barry University softball team got blanked in a Sunshine State Conference (SSC) doubleheader against top-ranked University of Tampa, 2-0 and 5-0, at Naimoli Field to finish the three-game series Saturday.

NOTEWORTHY:
- The Spartans will host the highest anticipated SSC series of the season as Saint Leo will take the bus ride into Tampa for a 3-game series between the top two teams in the SSC.
- Brooklyn Rushton and Rylee Lord accounted for the only two Buccaneer hits in Game One.
- Mac Stone-Folmar and Lisa Heller both had multiple hits in Game Two.
- Brooklyn Rushton and Becka Mellor had singles in Game Two.
- Three Buc pitchers took the circle in Game Two; Cassandra Lee (L, 7-6) started and took the loss after going two innings and allowing two unearned runs.
- Lisa Heller had her first appearance in the circle all season, allowing one hit and one run while walking one.
- Haelee Angelico (L, 7-8) pitched a complete game in today's opener and was charged wtih two unearned runs over six innings allowing five hits while fanning eight Spartans.

Barry comes home for its final Buccaneer Field series when it hosts Nova Southeastern University Sharks on Friday-Saturday in a three-game series.
