MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry lost 8-6 to the third-ranked Tampa Spartans in the opening of their Sunshine State Conference baseball series at Feinbloom Field on Friday night.

NOTEWORTHY:
- Trevor Baker (0-3) took the loss for the Bucs, despite not giving up an earned run.Â
- Jack Brodsky (4-0) got the win, despite coughing up the lead in the eighth. He worked two innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits.Â
- Noriega went 3-for-4 with a homer and four RBI.
- Saladino led Tampa with three hits, including a double and a homer, with five RBI. He was the only Tampa batter to enter the game hitting less than .300.Â
ON THE HORIZON:
The Bucs close out the home part of the season in an SSC doubleheader tomorrow at starting at 1:00 pm against the Spartans. Barry will honor the 2023 senior class prior to game one.
