MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University JV baseball team dropped a pair of seven-inning games to Elite Squad Baseball, 7-6 and 8-6, on Feinbloom Field in Miami Shores, Florida, on Monday afternoon.

Game 1 | Elite Squad 7, Barry JV 6

• B1: Dylan Ecken led off with a bunt single and Akira Nakamura singled through the right side. CJ Bussell grounded out to shortstop and both Bucs advanced on the bases. A passed ball scored Ecken from third. | Barry JV 1, Elite Squad 0

• B4: Hector Vilorio walked on a full count and stole second. Aramis Ramirez grounded out to second and Vilorio advanced to third. Damian Tomayo singled to right center to retake the lead. • T8: With two out and one on, the Elite Squad took its first lead with three unearned runs. A costly error kept the inning alive and then an intentional walk loaded the bases before back-to-back unintentional passes tied the score. NOTEWORTHY:

• Damian Tomayo and Akira Nakamura both collected two singles in the opener.
• Dylan Ecklen had a multi-hit game in the nightcap.
• Billy Eich (no decision) started and worked 4 2/3 innings allowing just one hit (a home run) and two earned runs. He struck out three and walked three, and hit a batter.
• Robbie Throop had an inning and a third in relief with no earned runs. He struck out one and walked one among the seven batters he faced.
• Douglas Schapley (L, 0-1) took the loss in game one after allowing three unearned runs while walking four (one intentional).
• Cole Frye (L, 2-1) started game two and suffered the defeat after surrendering five runs in the 1st. He pitched 3 2/3 innings and walked six batters.
• Riley Reed finished the final 3 1/3 frames with no runs allowed.
