SUMMARY:
Game 1 | Buccaneers 2, Golden Bears 1

  • T10: After Haelee Angelico and Cassandra Lee kept the Golden Bears off the board for the first nine innings, international tiebreak rules went into effect in the 10th frame. Kutztown placed pinch-runner Aysha Gibbs on second base and she advanced on a wild pitch. Lee induced Sarah Harvat to pop out to Jordan Ream at second base and got a strikeout on the next Golden Bear. Alexa Stevens had her third hit of the game, a single up the middle, to drive in Gibbs with the game's first run. | Kutztown 1, Barry 0
  • B10: Amanda Slabicki had held the Buccaneers hitless through the first five innings, and even when Barry tied the score in this inning, they did so without a hit. Angel Villanueva was placed at second and moved to third on Jordan Ream's sacrifice bunt. Harper Bunn, who had two of the Bucs' five hits to that point, lined a drive to left field deep enough to score Villanueva from third on the sacrifice. | Barry 1, Kutztown 1
  • B11: Taylor Thompson was placed at second base and moved to third on Becka Mellor's sacrifice bunt. Mac Stone-Folmar bunted a 2-1 pitch from Slabicki and Thompson scored on a head-first slide ahead of the throw. | Barry 2, Kutztown 1

Game 2 | Buccaneers 2, Golden Bears 1

  • B2: Without the benefit of a hit, the Buccaneers scored two unearned runs. Brooke Moeller led off with a walk and, with one out, Jordan Ream reached on an error and both Bucs moved to second and third. Harper Bunn was hit by a pitch to load the bases which brought in Haley Gravish to pitch for starter Sarah Harvey. Gravish got a strikeout swinging on her first Buc batter for the second out, but Becka Mellor reached on an error that brought Moeller and Ream in with the only runs Barry would need. | Barry 2, Kutztown 0
  • T3: Once again the Golden Bears got production from their lower third. Kristen Geesey led off with a single through the left side. Lexi Wescott sacrificed her to second with a bunt. Lauren Petitt doubled off the fence in right field to cut the deficit in half. Angelico walked the next Golden Bear, but avoided further damage with a fly out to center fielder Angel Villanueva and a ground out to Jordan Ream at second. | Barry 2, Kutztown 1
