MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry University softball team blanked University of West Florida in a non-league season-opening doubleheader on Friday (2-0 and 1-0) at Buccaneer Field on the Miami Shores campus. Maci Barnhart pitched a complete-game shutout in the opener on four hits while striking out nine. Cassandra Lee had an RBI single in the first inning and an RBI groundout in the third frame. In Game Two, Lee started in the circle and allowed just one hit in five innings while striking out four Argonauts. Barnhart got the final three outs in the seventh for the save.
