LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Barry University men's basketball team dropped its final regular season Sunshine State Conference (SSC) on the road against Florida Southern College, 114-93, at the Jenkins Field House on Saturday evening. The 114 points are the most allowed by the Buccaneers (12-13, 8-12 SSC), who earn the league's eighth seed in next week's tournament, this season ; the Moccasins (19-8, 13-7 SSC) clinch the third seed in the postseason. Barry and Florida Southern split their season series with each winning on their home court.

Dambreville's jumper in the paint handed Florida Southern its largest lead of the game, 24 points, with 13:30 to go, 77-53. The Buccaneers would cut the deficit to just 15 points, 102-87, but the Moccasins pushed it back to a 20-point game, 109-89, on back-to-back fastbreak plays from Alex Steen; a dunk and a free throw as well as a reverse layup. Babatunde Ajike finished the scoring for Florida Southern in the final 1:25 with a quick three-pointer and a layup.
