MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The Barry Buccaneers beat down the Saint Leo Lions 7-3 in Sunshine State Conference baseball action at Feinbloom Field on Friday night.

SUMMARY:
- T3: The Lions got on the board first in the top of the third inning. With two outs, Dylan Mass beat out an infield single for the first hit of the day for Saint Leo, and stole second. Bobby Sparling followed with a base hit down the left-field line, scoring Mass, although Sparling was thrown out at second trying to strretch it into a double. | SLU 1 Barry 0
- B3: The Bucs got the run back in the bottom of the third. Sean Shelly, who had hosed down Sparling in the top of the inning, led off with a single up the middle. Two outs later, Evan Wickeri beat out a base hit to third and Shelly came home when the throw sail past the first baseman Sparling. | Barry 1, SLU 1
- B4: Barry took the lead in the fourth. Kevin Noriega led off with a single and went to second on a wild pitch by Lions starter Dariel Fregio. Matthew Menendez doubled into the right-center gap to put the Bucs up. | Barry 2, SLU 1

- B5: Barry took the lead for good in the fifth. Brandon Sanchez led off with his first homer of the year. Joe Stella and Noriega had back-to-back doubles to plate another run. | Barry 4, SLU 2
- B6: In the sixth Christian Maceda launched a three-run homer to left to extend the lead. | Barry 7, SLU 2

NOTEWORTHY:
- The Bucs got another quality start out of the pitching staff. Mike Reagan (2-0) went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks, while striking out seven.
- Trevor Baker worked the final three innings, allowing a run on Wyman's homer, along with two other hits and a walk. He struck out four to earn his first save.
- Fregio (1-1) took the loss for the Lions. In 4.2 innings, he surrendered four runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk.
- Shelly was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Sanchez, Stella and Noriega all chipped in two hits. Maceda led the team with three RBI.
- The win snapped a four-game streak by the Lions.
