Brandon Sanchez led off with a double to left and scored on a single by Jake Ogden. After a walk to Christian Maceda and a ground out, Ogden scored when shortstop Mikey Casaleggio threw away the relay on a potential double play ball. NOTEWORTHY:
- Anthony Bennetti (1-0) turned in a quality start for the Bucs, tossing five shutout innings on just two hits and a walk, while striking out seven.
- Federico Zapata tossed the last three innings to earn his second save. He allowed the one run on Housen's homer and four other hits and struck out one.
- Sanchez went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs.

The Buccaneers' home stand continues with a three-game Sunshine State Conference set play this weekend on Friday and Saturday against Saint Leo.
