CHARLESTON, SC - Heading into halftime against Emory & Henry trailing by eight on Saturday afternoon, the Barry University men's basketball team outscored the Wasps by 20 points in the second half to win the inaugural Charleston Cup Classic 95-83.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
	- 1H | After splitting the opening 20 points of the contest, the Bucs used a 7-0 run to pull ahead 17-10 with 14:19 remaining in the first half. E&H flipped the advantage behind an 8-0 run, with neither side holding a lead greater than three until a 14-0 Emory & Henry run created a 43-29 score with 4:44 remaining in the half. The Bucs brought the separation down to single digits using a 7-2 stretch, ending the half with the final three points to create a 47-39 score at the break.
 
	- 2H | The Bucs started the second half with back-to-back layups to quickly make it a four-point game at 47-43, responding to an 8-2 stretch by the Wasps that recreated their double-digit with a an 8-1 rally to make it a one-possession game at 56-53 with 12:52 left to play. Following back-to-back E&H, the Bucs went on a 14-0 run to flip the seven-point advantage in their favor at 67-60, extending the lead to double-digits at 74-64 with 4:54 left to play. Barry held Emory & Henry without consecutive baskets until the final minute when a triple and layup made it 87-78 with 51 seconds remaining.
 
NOTEWORTHY:
	- The 2023 Charleston Cup Classic marks the first year of the Division II event, and also the first meeting between Barry and Emory & Henry.
 
	- The Buccaneers 38 made free throws are the third-most in program history.
 
	- Nick Anderson scored a team-high 20 points, going 4-7 from beyond the arc while adding two steals.
 
	- James Montgomery pulled down a team-high 15 rebounds with 12 points and four assists.
 
	- Malik Stanley chipped in 18 points with four assists and two steals.
 
	- Adren Roberts scored 17 points with seven boards and two steals.
 
	- Ga'Khari Lacount added 13 points.
 
	- Barry shot 24-61 from the field, 9-21 from distance and 38-46 from the charity stripe.
 
	- Barry forced 22 turnovers, resulting in 31 points.
 
	- The Bucs boasted 12 steals.

Barry returns to the Sunshine State to welcome Bluefield State on Saturday, Nov. 25 with tip-off slated for 7 p.m.
