MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- The top-seeded Barry Buccaneers won the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Men's Soccer Tournament Championship with a 1-0 victory over the second-seeded Florida Tech Panthers at Buccaneer Field on Sunday.

NOTEWORTHY:
- The Panthers out-shot Barry 10-6, but the Bucs led 3-2 in shots on goal.
- Florida Tech had 59 percent of the possession and led 4-3 in corners, but the Buccaneer defense held firm for the shutout win.
- Rafael Furlani, the SSC Keeper of the Year, stopped the two shots Tech managed to put on goal, recording his sixth shutout of the season.
- Iker Bastida had two saves for Florida Tech, but conceded the game-winner to Villalobos.
- Barry captured the tournament title, to go along with their regular-season championship, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Super Region #2 Tournament next week.
- This was the first time that Barry won both titles in the same year.
- It was the Bucs' third tournament, after winning in 2009 and 2013.
- The Bucs avenged their earlier 1-0 loss to the Panthers and claimed the tournament crown after Tech won it last year.
